How Everythingdey was founded
Frustrated with platforms that felt cold, rigid, and far removed from the Nigerian hustle spirit, the founder Haslem Nwaka Okaleka decided to create something different. Drawing from his background in computer science and passion for accessible tech, Haslem began building Everything Dey from the ground up: a platform designed to reflect the energy, flexibility, and creativity of African commerce. With no funding and just a laptop, code, and commitment, Haslem launched the first version of Everything Dey focused on user-first design, direct vendor access, and real-time price negotiation. He believed that everyone, from the small street vendor to the fashion-forward entrepreneur, deserved a place online that felt like home.
